Gradient Nail Tutorial!

Enough of kidney stuff right now. 🙂

Here’s a nail tutorial on how to do a gradient mani!

It’s probably one of the easiest and fastest things to do for a really cool mani.

All you need is:

– A makeup sponge from any local CVS, Walgreens, Target store.

– Nail polishes of course (it can be as many as 5 or as little as 2).

– White nail polish (this will be your base coat and the white makes the colors on top stand out more).

– Q-tips and nail polish remover to clean up around the sides of your nails.

Then follow these steps!

You might want to paint your nails white first, and THEN paint those 3 lines on the sponge when the white nail polish has dried (otherwise the lines on the sponge will dry out, duh)  Also, I cut the makeup sponge to about the size of my nail, it can be bigger, as you want to make sure that you will be able to cover the entire white polish with your chosen colors.

And here you go!

This gradient is a little more subtle, as I used colors that were a little more similar to each other.  But use whatever colors you want and make the gradient stand out even more!

It’s fun, it’s easy, and you get a beautiful mani! 😉

Quick Mani

When you don’t have a lot of time for a detailed mani and you don’t want just a plain color on your nails, here’s what I do:

I take a pretty color like Essie’s “Haute as Hello,” and lightly brush the tips of my nails with a sparkle nail polish like Milani’s “Disco Lights.”

And done.

“What About Lunch?”

Where to begin…  I started a nail art blog but realized that there are so many other things to write about.  I will be writing about a range of topics, whether it be nail art and my favorite nail polishes of the moment, my love for basketball and the Golden State Warriors, or my journey going through Chronic Kidney Failure.  Basically, I wanted this to be a positive blog, filled with interesting stories, beautiful and creative creations/findings, and a blog that can be inspirational to others.  But for now, I’ll leave you with a creation of my own that I did this past week.  As you can see, I got a little impatient with the ring finger to dry.

I’ll keep this short for now because Winnie the Pooh said it best:

“It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn’t use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like “What about lunch?”
